Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah has surged to the top of the 2025 Ballon d'Or ladder following the Reds' Premier League triumph with four games to spare.

Despite a disappointing campaign in other tournaments, most notably the UEFA Champions League, where they suffered an early round of 16 exit, the weight of a Premier League crown has been enough to tip the scale in his favour.

However, Salah's fate isn't entirely in his own hands. The Egyptian will be hoping that Barcelona, leaders in Spain, somehow capitulate and surrender the La Liga trophy.

Barcelona trio of Lamine, Raphinha and Lewandowski are just hairbreadths away.

Even if they fall short, the looming presence of Ousmane Dembélé could prove decisive, as a Champions League victory would almost certainly secure him the Ballon d’Or.
